This Sunday @ the Segal will celebrate and explore the rich Irish diaspora here in Montreal and around the world. Sharing their research and experience, panelists will explore and discuss the important roles music, literature, and theatre play in Irish history and culture.

DR. EMER O'TOOLE
Associate Professor of Irish Studies,
Concordia University

Emer O'Toole is Associate Professor of Irish Performance Studies at the School of Irish Studies, Concordia University. She is author of the book Girls Will Be Girls and a columnist for The Guardian and The Irish Times.

JÉRÉMY TÉTRAULT-FARBER
History Professor Dawson College

Jérémy Tétrault-Farber teaches in the History Department of Dawson College in Montreal, and is currently enrolled in the PhD Humanities program at Concordia University, where he is completing a doctoral thesis on the evolution of Irish traditional music in Montreal. He is also former Secretary-Treasurer for the Canadian Association for Irish Studies, and former tin whistle teacher at the Siamsa School of Irish Music, in Montreal. He plays the Scottish Highland bagpipes, the Irish uilleann pipes, and the tin whistle, and is Pipe Major of the Montreal Pipes and Drums, the only independent civilian pipe band in the city.

EOIN Ó CATHÁIN
A Musical Booking Agent
Eoin Ó Catháin is a classical music agent working with Latitude 45 Arts, an international classical and world music artist agency representing artists from all over the world. Prior to joining Latitude 45, Eoin held the position of Education Officer and programmer for the Cork Film Festival in Ireland for 10 years. He has directed theatre professionally and was the Artistic Director of Samuel Beckett Theatre Festival in Ireland. Eoin is a member of the advocacy committee for CAPACOA The Canadian Arts Presenting Association, working on issues such as visa and taxation policies for artists in Canada and the US. Eoin is a law graduate that has worked previously in intellectual property with a law firm in Dublin. He is originally from Skerries, County Dublin.
